The successful applicant will be expected to provide academic leadership, including curriculum reform (in partnership with the Director of the new Key Centre for the Geochemical Evolution and Metallogeny of Continents), participate in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, and develop close links with other disciplines in the School and University and with the Sydney Universities Consortium of Geology and Geophysics. The Professor will also contribute to the corporate activities of the University and interface actively with the mining and exploration industries on behalf of the Geology Discipline.

Applicants must have a distinguished record in teaching and research. The appointee will have demonstrated outstanding expertise in a field relevant to the Key Centre (including metallogeny, geochemistry, tectonics and an appropriate field of geophysics) and will have the ability to foster interdisciplinary research.

Salary range: Professor (Level E) $81,780 per annum
